About Daniel Zisin
Daniel Zisin is a Melbourne-based musician, songwriter, performer and educator who has spent most of his life finding different excuses to make music with people.
As a composer, Daniel has written for musical theatre, film and advertising, released plenty of original music of his own, and collaborated with a long list of songwriters and musicians. He is also the creator of Little Songs and Lullabies, a musical children’s book and album of original songs for kids and their grown-ups.
As a performer, Daniel has toured with original bands, played countless gigs as a freelance jazz musician and worked the corporate circuit. He’s also spent years as one of Melbourne’s busiest piano bar musicians, taking requests, leading singalongs and occasionally pretending to know songs he’s never heard before. His favourite part has always been getting a room full of strangers singing together and creating the kind of warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels part of it.
Daniel is also an experienced music educator, working as a classroom music teacher, band director, songwriting facilitator, piano teacher and vocal teacher.
Whether he’s writing, teaching or sitting behind a piano, the common thread is pretty simple: making music, bringing people together and having a good time doing it.
